Thought I'd post up a few pics of the mods we've done to my truck over the last couple of years. Since having a couple of kids(3 & 13 Months) my spare "me" time has dramatically decreased. what used to take a couple of months ran into two years real quick. This all started 2 years back when I decided to switch the 700r4 out for a Jake's Performance 80e. That led to lots of "while I'm here why don't I".

So I ended up boxing in the back half of the frame, replaced all the crossmembers with gusseted dom, fab'd up a new aluminum baffeled 20 gallon rear tank & installed a new MagnaFuel pump & reg, installed a couple of auxiliary coolers for oil & trans fluid, added a couple of gauges, stuck on a Stef's oil pan chasing an oil leak, built a set of front a-arms with adjustable suspension limiters, added a set of zr-1 wheels for the street, & lots more minor stuff. Finally almost back together, hopefully next week get the new oil pan & the front end back in. We'll see if it made any improvements:roll:.




Just a little -12 to feed the pump:






Got the new tank to fit pretty well with the sump hidden just below the license plate:


Intercooler Tank, Fuel Tank & Battery Box:


Added a new heat shield below the intercooler:


Replaced the torsion bar crossmember, tied in my roll cage & integrated a safety loop


Boxed in the back half:


New A-arms with Grease-able Delrin Bushings & suspension limiter

very very nice truck and on everything done, except the steering wheel..:p
whats the details on the hvac panel, i could use one of those. do you have beltech leafs, if so with what size block?

Very nice Len! I use my 2 and 7 year old as a constant excuse to not get anything done with the truck. I can't believe how well you manage to keep pushing forward.

Excited to see how well it runs! Keep us posted.

Very nicely done and thought out. Thanks for sharing as I enjoy seeing new and interesting ideas, vs same old questions that have been posted 100x before.

i plan to do a lot of similar stuff to mine this winter as far as the cross members go, i had the same idea for the oil and tranny coolers, its nice to see others stuff to help me with my idea's, i'll be changing mine from a ladder bar set-up to 4 link and plan to do a tank like you did.

whats the bolt flange for the bar, was it so you could remove the cab with out cutting the roll bar?

awesome work keep it up, would like to see it in person if i go visit my sister inlaw

That's some good looking work. I like the coolers under the truck. Think you'll need to make scoops for them?

Stock Leafs w/ 1.375" billet lowering blocks. I'm planning on building 4 link probably next winter. The hvac panel I just machined out the center where the controls are & made a insert out of black acrylic.

Yes, the flange is so I can still remove the cab if I need without having to cut the bar.
Always cold beer in our fridge if you ever want to stop by.

Shouldn't need any scoops. Each has it's own fan with individual temp sensors. I also angled them down on the front, upon the back to allow some airflow as well. The fans are set up as pullers, so they shouldn't have to fight air flow once the truck is moving.


Thanks for the positive comments. Got the new oil pan in the truck last night. Should be able to get the front end back in over the weekend, then back on the road!!
