10/3 Romex???

Hey guys we are trying to get our powder coating business up and running but we are really short on funds. Does anyone have about 50' of 10-3 Romex laying around so that we can make an extension cord for the oven. We are willing to offer discounted P.C prices for the help.

It is not legal or safe to use Romex as an extension cord.
You need SO or SJ cord.

A P.C facility is likely considered a hazardous location according to the local authority having jurisdiction aka inspector. This may require explosion proof fittings in conduit since there are airborne particles/dust.

If it's not being inspected, SO or SJ will work just make sure the wire is rated for the load. May be continuous duty and that must also be deducted per the code or AHJ.
