02' WRX owned--not a STi

[QUICK STORM]

sitting at a light last night. light goes green, as soon as it goes green, and a black wrx zooms pass me. i slowly catch up to his speed and were cruising. then the next light goes yellow then red and we come to a stop. i wasn't planning on racing but i hope he was. he inches forward slightly, looks at me and nods. race is on. i'm thinking i better get ready to boost launch on him. well as soon as i turn away from him to look at the light and prep for the launch, the light goes green . he takes off and i mash the gas.

i recently just changed all my vaccum lines and replaced the intercooler lines with heater hose. also my boost control solenoid was bad to so replaced it too. i've been getting bad boost spikes so i really didn't want to WOT the truck, so i pretty much stayed around the 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. still during the race the stock boost gauge was reading boost over 15psi. looks like i need to get an aftermarket boost gauge.

well, he inches about a fender off the line, to about 20mph the i pulled on him like a bat at of hell. put about 10 car lengths on him and shut it down at 90mph. god i love my truck:rotf: , i'm contemplating selling it now. so i slow down to normal speed 45mph, waiting for him to catch up or fly passed me. nope he just stays way behind me, then turns off two lights later.

man what a rush. really hard to find a vehicle around my town that would want to race.

A good friend recently bought a WRX, and kept saying "I don't know, I think you'd be suprised how close a race it would be." when answering questions about his WRX and my Ty.

I really want a ride in an STi. I've heard from everyone they are unbelieveable. I might have to put on a 3-piece suit and head to the local Subie dealer for a test run.

One of my friends had a few older WRX's. Full exhaust, headers, a few more things done to it. Hadnt upgraded the turbo on it yet. But I think he only would of it low 13's in it.

I raced him in my Z28 (which is still somewhat stock, I only have a mulffer and a air lid) and we were kinda even until top of 2nd for me, and then I put about 3-4 cars on him.

Well i think the wrx is damn close to the typhoon.Along with alot more reliable.I ran 13.6 with a $60 mbc.I ran 13.01 @104 with a front mount ic.exhaust and ems, stock turbo, trans etc.The problem is most people dont know how to drive their cars.Oh yeah all times are full interior with stereo ps2 and tv screens.This summer we'll see how the typhoon stacks up.
I test drove an Sti, I was somewhat impressed.Scared the sales manager pretty good.Stock syty wouldnt have a chance.it felt about as fast as my lightly modded 02.
