If you're concerned about that mix it with water. Gasoline is combustable and I don't see people rushing out to dilute their gas to prevent it from bursting into flames.
If you're going to mix it with water you might as well just buy winter windshield washer fluid.

Some people mount their meth inj tank in the engine compartment where temps can get dangerously high. Not the best idea IMO, unless you have some way to shield the tank from the heat.

The best solution is to mount your tank in a safe location so you can run 100% meth.

5psi is a good psi start. I think once you go toward pump gas things will come back for you.

The sooner it kicks on the sooner it can start to cool things down before they get hot.

I think Nolan hit it though, C16 + Meth is just too much octane.

The end of 2005 over 24 months ago there was a month that a few pumps went bad. The MFG had changed suppliers of their injection molded valves not giving them the same resilience against chemicals. They of course didnt tell me.. I stopped selling kits/pumps for a month until I have a new valve custom made to my specs. At that time we went to pressure sensing. The result, not a single valve failure in 2 years. And it cuased us to have to hand build every single pump. Becuase I could not trust the MFG anymore. Only issue now is from contamination of fuel mixed with alcohol or debris from trash getting into pump. Those I cannot control.

Can a meth system ever fail, absolutely. Just like a fuel pump, injector, PCM, MAP sensor, fuel pressure regulator, etc. Any of these will burn a hole into the motor. Best advice is to use a wideband sensor to watch what the engine is doing at WOT. This covers the entire fuel system. If a person chooses to ignore to look at the sensor at WOT.. then they're in trouble. Companies like Dynojet and Zeitronix make conditional sensors whereby if the AFR hits a target at WOT, then it trips a relay which can be used for an alert.. alarm..lite.. etc.

Now as to the race gas thing with meth. You will be slower with C16. A close friend of mine runs 108 with meth and got his numbers back.

There is some impressive power to be had with meth.
I put an Alkycontrol setup on a GN for a guy a few years back.

The car had the average bolton’s and was a daily drive.
It would go 12.50’s any time you took it to the strip.

The guy ask me how to get it in the 11’s on pump gas
so I called Julio at Alkycontrol and ordered his best GN
setup with his chip.

After some tuning and adding about 10 psi of boost the
car was running 11.70’s, I was impressed.

Well about 3 mouths went buy and the guy shows up in
his truck with his motor in boxes and he was pissed!

I ask him did he run it out of meth and he said no.
I put a battery in the car to test the system and the motor on the pump would run but it wouldn’t pump.

I called Julio and he said that he had gotten some pumps in with the wrong seals.

I took the motor apart and the seals where swelled up.

What I’m getting at is if you use it in this manner you allowing a $100.00 garden sprayer pump to supplement the fuel to your motor!

That’s why I use washer fluid. If the system fails your still on the bad side of your tune up but not nearly as
bad as you would be with a meth tune up using straight
meth.

I know that I’m leaving some power on the table but if
MAX power is what your after why not put Nitro-methane
in the meth tank!

Nitro-methane has a oxygen molecule attached to it, that why it’s so powerful.

Just think of the possibilities 3x the power on half the boost!

Hell just build a Bowtie forged short block put you stock
top end on and a 91mm turbo and you done! 8,s baby 8,s!!!!!

So, what are your fuel pumps then? I mean, they're pretty much the same thing and you depend on them when you run race gas at WOT and nobody seems to worry about that. Even a good Walbro is still a '$100 garden sprayer' by your definition.

Using windshield fluid as a safety buffer makes no sense. You risk putting detergents and other things into your engine when if you were concerned about safety you could run methanol and then back it off and have even more of a buffer zone than offered by windshield washer fluid.

Your setup for 8's sounds awesome but you gotta keep in mind that some people don't have unlimited budgets and if they have ~$500 to spend on a methanol kit to trim almost a full second off of their current 1/4mi time, why wouldn't they?

I don't understand why some people are so stubborn when it comes to methanol injection. It's PROVEN.

When I had my Typhoon the next 'mod' I was planning was to relocate my methanol tank to the rear. I saw a mod where people could move their fill neck to a hinged taillight and though this would be a trick place to access the tank and not have it visible yet easy to access for filling and one could run a pretty large tank if they went this route and weren't restricted by limited space under hood let alone high temps. The supply line would only need to be a few feet longer since my tank was mounted on the opposite side of the engine bay than most Sy/Ty setups.

Jer, where can I find the info on the hinged taillight mod? I have somthing else in mind that this would be great for.

Razor has the best kit money can buy period.

Razor I’m sorry for bring up you name, I could have said
“meth kit” my bad, it’s not your fault that this happed.

If you or I had been driving the car we’d had enough
since to take or foot off the gas.

Hell the guy had a Scan master.

I have a friend with a D1SC on a 03 Mach1
and when we took it to the dyno and sprayed
the meth tuning it “18psi” made 680 at the wheels.

It tolled the tuner about the deal with the GN and he wired a IAT in behind the nozzle so if any thing happens to the meth it will go pig rich and pull timing to save the motor.

The guy with the GN and the guy with the Mach do good to change there oil let alone baby sit something.

Really? I've bought several Walbros for several cars and all were right around $100 so I guess I'm wondering what you think makes them such much more different/reliable than the Shure Flo pumps Julio uses in his alky kits.

Funny that because your post wasn't about how you use it and how much you love it. It works and does amazing things for very little money and yet some feel the need to say how dangerous it is when it really isn't any more or less reliable than the fuel systems they support.
