Re: return home check in thread

My dad and I made it back right around 8:00 PM. On the trip to NATs we took the Ohio route and going back we took West Virginia. If road work weren't part of the equation Ohio is a much nicer route hands down..

Had a great time this weekend and I really enjoyed seeing everyone and the trucks..

Glad you made it back Morgan, it was a pleasure actually putting a face to a name. We left ~11 and got back in at 4:30. Trip was flawless and the truck got 24mpg after the cruise tune.

Other than the 90º+ weather with no ac :D

Re: return home check in thread

We made it in at just about 11pm Eastern Time after leaving the hotel at 9:30am Kentucky Time. We made 3 stops for gas and sat down to eat at two of the stops.

We came around a bend on I79 somewhere near mile marker 140 I think it was and saw something blue on a trailer on the side of the road. I saw it was a typhoon so made my way over from the fast lane and pulled in in front of the Klinger Klan. Their Tahoe had exploded the front passenger side tire (thankfully they were able to get it off the road safely). I think we had them back on the road in about 20 minutes or so. Hopefully the rest of the trip went better for them.

The truck drove great the whole way back. I know either next time it will have A/C or will be pulled by something with A/C. But other than heat everything went fine. Tried to keep it under 80mph on the drive back but it just wants to go. It looks like we were getting about 15mpg highway average for the trip down and back. About 16-17 on the way down, but it did a little worse on the drive home in the heat.

Anyway, it was a blast and driving home in the heat was well worth the trip. We had a fantastic time and will surely be at the next Nats. It was my first one and I really enjoyed meeting everyone.

And a huge Thanks to everyone who put it together!

Made it home safely despite losing an entire wheel off the trailer about 30 miles from home! As I pull off the freeway the right rear trailer tire comes flying off and down into a huge ditch/swamp.. Even without the wheel the trailer held up great for the remainder of the trip.

Trailblazer did an excellent job of towing, averaged 11.5mpg for the trip home with the AC blasting.

I got home this morning at 1:15am. The border was a breeze to get through. Now I gotta take the uhaul trailer back... and clean up the tow truck....

Made it home around 10pm last night...NJ93TY and Smaug/Smoosh caravan.

The twisties in West Virginia were big fun....despite steering slop and 18-wheelers everywhere.

I'm beat today. :squint: New repect for drivers of 24-hour LeMans!

Uneventful ride home for us.

Stopped for a couple minutes with the Rockford crew with a blow out on their trailer, other than that we rolled the 300 miles home in a tad over 4 hours.

A great time was had by all, glad to see all the old friends and meeting the new guys as well.
All in All it was a great time!

I made it there in just over 6, and made it home in just under 10. WTF? It wasn't cause I was loaded up with parts. 65 ad a few spots of consrtuction, and I sat for 30 minuets w/o moving an inch. NATS was a BLAST!

Made my flight with a minute to spare (Thanks again Joe ((and family) and then sat on the runway for an hour. Pilot could not figure if the flaps were not working or if it was just the light on the dash. Back to the terminal to find a mechanic to replace the light. People can get real nasty on a plane when they think they will miss their connecting flight! Was going to offer to replace the bulb myself. Do you think this line would have worked? "If I can fix a SyTy, I can fix an airplane"!

Justin and I made it home fine. We drove straight through and the truck ran great, we got in around 8pm. We got stuck in traffic and construction a couple times. We got 18.9mpg on the way down there, and 17.7 on the way back. Not too shabby...

We pulled in the driveway at 3am . Besides almost falling asleep at the wheel , the return trip was a breeze .

Glad you all made it home safely.

Were still in Louisville. Parts for the Dodge wont even be in until tomorrow morning. And we still have a 13 hour trip. We wont get home til early Wednesday morning. I rented a focus to have for the day as there are 3 of us and its tight in the Sy with all of us in there.(Plus its making some bad noises up front from AutoX) I should have brought the Ty.

Whats there to do in Louisville???
