I know of a custom syty cam that was cut with 118 deg. Too bad it never had any protective lube on it and it sat on a shelf long enough to rust to hell.

Bring your own towels to clean up and leave no wet spots behind,,,

John

2 towels should be enough, i promise to not leave any wet spots, promise promise.

Adam wants to rub your back during that time......you cool with that?

Adam will have to wait, I will take care of him 2nd. This truck is a lot more sexy than he even thought of being.

Is there a advantage to a higher lobe separation on a v6.

Yes, more lobe seperation means less overlap of the intake/exhaust valve opening. NA motor need the overlap so as the exhaust goes out, it is pulling the intake charge in to get it moving. On a turbo motor we just don't have a problem getting air/fuel in. So if you leave the exhaust open while intake is air/fuel can go into the cylinder and back out the exhaust before the exhaust valve closes. Now you have raw fuel in exhaust and lost part of your mixture you wanted to burn for power.

Because of the higher duration the 116* LSA helps bring the degree of overlap back down. 112* LSA is fine on a 412 cam, 114* is fine on a 422 cam. When you go higher in duration is when you need to go to a higher LSA. There is a point that you have no need to go higher on duration with a turbo cam has you just negate the benefit by gaining to much overlap. Depending on turbo, heads and exhaust type, overlap should be in the -10* to +10*. On a NA motor you will see them in the 30*+ range on some radical builds.

Since several of you thought the engine bay was hot and Jeff wanted to spend some time alone with it, I decided to install a SafeCraft fire suppression system in it.

The tank is located behind the passenger seat and is viewable from the drivers seat (to check the gauge). It is mounted via a billet clamp to the roll cage.

Since I do not have wiper arms to contend with, The line comes into the wiper cowl via a -4 AN bulkhead tee fitting and is hard lined to two bulkhead 90* fittings into the engine compartment.

Two 180* nozzles are mounted to flood the engine bay if needed. A third nozzle is mounted under the dash where all the wiring is located.

The trigger pull is mounted overhead next to the other "oh shit" handle...

Jeff, be carefull where you play with this Ty or you may find yourself "Haloned". By the way, Jeff, in answer to your engine bay clean up question in another thread. You could follow my lead and conceal all your wires. Just a thought. I will send an engine bay photo over to your thread so you can study it.

The brakes work great. You have to change the pedal ratio to get the correct leverage. I have four piston calibers all around so braking isn't a problem. Remember, power brakes only help to apply the pressure to the master cylinder. The rest of the brake system is just mechanical in either case (excluding the ABS system). If you match the correct master cylinder with the correct leverage on the pedal you will hardly know the difference.
