The heads are lightly ported complete and include rocker studs, 1.6 roller rockers, pushrod guide plates, and hardened 7.100” pushrods.

Brodix Heads (Lil Brodie’s). These are the -8 part number. Strait plug. More info here:
http://www.brodix.com/heads/v6.html

The guy I bought these from said they had been bolted on a engine and never fired. With me they have been sitting on a shelf. The heads are new, just been passed on a few times. I deiced to go a different route and no longer have the need for them.

These heads are the baddest bolt on heads you can buy.

www.sytyperformance.com sells similar heads for 3700.00 plus rockers, pushrods, guide plates, rocker studs, and rockers.

Thanks for looking.

Re: F.S. Complete Brodix Heads

I don't have any personal experence with trying to put the stock manifolds on the heads.

I have read that the with strait plug heads the stock manifolds bold on and the spark plugs clear but the spark plug boots gets pretty close to the manifold. If the boots were protected good enough the stockers may work. Angled plug heads without question require aftermarket headers.

Re: F.S. Complete Brodix Heads

One of the locals had these heads, and while the stock manifolds bolted up, it killed plug wires frequently, even with thermotec boots on the wires.

You'd likely have to ceramic coat the manifolds, wrap them with thermal tape and use the insulating boots, and even then, it'd be a "maybe" proposition.

Kenne Bell Catalog said you had to run his headers with those heads.

Yes you need headers to run them.

What intake will bolt up to them, or what intake are they drilled for? And what do they flow?

http://www.brodix.com/heads/v6.html says they are designed for the Edelbrock Performer 90° V6 intake. The #2111 model number is the intake that is set up like the stock syty intake manifold. I believe that the stock manifold will bolt on to these heads as the bolt pattern is the same. I'm sure that a stock manifold modified for vortec heads would take advantage of the larger intake runners.

I'm not sure what these heads will flow. http://www.brodix.com/heads/v6.html says that the stock Brodix head will flow 240/161@.500. Sytyperformance says their ported and polished Brodix heads they sell flow 300@.600 These heads are lightly ported so flow is going to be between stock Brodix and the sytyperformance Brodix heads.

The big advantages Brodix heads have is the ability to run more boost than cast iron heads on pump gas, bigger intake valves than stock or vortec, and weight reduction.

The only heads I've see that are better are the GM 18deg. bowtie heads. GM list price for the bowtie head is 954.29 ea. Thats a bare casting.

Brodix are the baddest bolt on heads you can buy for the syty.

Will the KB or ATR headers fit on all after market heads 15,18,23 raised runner?

I think KB and ATR headers are designed for 23deg. heads only.

Re: F.S. Complete Brodix Heads

The intake valves on my brodies are 2.08" stock. They are pretty big. I am also running the stock lower intake that has been modified to match the runners of the heads. And yes, a Set of RPM headers or the old KB ones are required to get the propper ammount of spark plug boot clearance. You will also need a set of RPM valve covers to button her up as the stock center bolt ones will not fit. You can check out my Monster Time page for pictures if it will help. Hope this helps. And bump for a good set of heads at a very fair price.

See ya,

Thanks for all the info. Even after these heads sell it would be good to keep this thread on syty.net for educational purposes. I did some searching and didn't find nearly this much information.

Are you happy with the performance of these heads? Are you able to run more boost than some of the other guys with simular cast iron builds on pump gas?
