We can, but it was a lot to try and squeeze it in after the AutoX in 2010. We made the decision to move it to Friday night where there'd be more time to devote to it and potentially a better group of cars there for us to watch/race against. Things may change in the next 9 months, but that's the tentative plan. We realize that some may not be making it in till Friday night, but it's tough to accommodate everyone's schedule (and if we move it to Sat. night, what about those who have to leave Saturday?). It's a tough call, but we kinda need Sat. night for awards & raffle, which are going to be bigger than ever this year.

And just so everyone knows. We really encourage everyone to make it in early Friday or even Thursday. I know some won't be able to skip out of town that early, but if you can, we'll do supper (Thur night) at my place, and room permitting, you're all welcome to crash at my place. Friday will get started earlier this year as we want to cram as much in the weekend as possible.

Would Johnny Harriss' be able to accommodate our group? People would never want to leave...

Johnny Harris is our spot, dammit. No bringing anyone else along! :lol:

Kilpatrick will most likely be there this year. Nothing cleared yet, but we're hoping the GA Ports Authority will allow him to fly his RC helicopter above the AutoX with a GoPro mounted on it. Should make for some cool video. :tup:

Personally, I can't wait for this year's Shindig. It should be a much more polished version of the 2010 one. A better autox, better drag racing, better trophies/awards, and definitely more and better raffle prizes and giveaways. We're not letting the cat outta the bag yet, but there are some killer raffle items this year and (hopefully) everyone will go home with at least one prize if not 2 or 3. We have more sponsors on board this year and they are being more generous. :tup:

I'm considering trying to make it out for the Shindig, what has the attendance and truck turnout been like in the past? I know it was posted before, but I can't find it anywhere.

Attendance for the 2008 event was around 30 trucks or so IIRC (event was in Orlando and a lot of FL locals came out) and 2010 was 25 trucks or so IIRC (event was moved to Savannah and we have very few locals 'cept me). We're expecting 30-40 trucks for 2012 as there's a lot more raffle gear to entice people to come (as it should be), the event cost is gonna be cheap (as it should be), and the event is gonna be well organized, streamlined, with activities for everyone, and a meal included in registration (like it should be and has always been). Couple all of that with (what looks to be) cheaper fuel prices and we could have banner year. If we start to get close to 40 trucks, we may have to call some locals just to pad the numbers. ;)

We're really hoping the Autocross enthusiasts come out this year as we're gonna have a marquee sponsor for the autox and have a nice award for the fastest driver. Also, we're hoping (like 2010) to have enough raffle items to allow everyone to take something home.

I can hardly wait to get there. You guys KNOW how to throw a great, well-planned event and when that happens consistently, the event grows in number of attendee's / trucks. I have no doubt it is gonna be a knock-out year for the Shindig event !!!!

Roy, also....(nothing concrete yet) but we're gonna hopefully have some gas cards to give out at the raffle and one to give out for farthest traveled. We're working with a sponsor to provide this for us, so fingers-crossed.

Last Shindig, I got to take Hood home with me. Unfortunately he was over the carry-on limit so we had to work something else out:oops:

We are planning to do a group photo directly after autoX. Once the cones are cleared out, we will line up the trucks and do a photo session.

It would be great to do a group shot of all of us in front of the trucks as well!

It's always cool to see trucks lined up...
