mine is mounted right behind the front bumper>right in front of the passenger front tire. two pieces of sheet metal and some nuts and bolts to hold it together. i'd post a picture of it but my cameras res. is too high.

Are you sure you dont want to mount it in the bed? Thats what I did and it works really really good. Minimal fabrication is needed. just some battery bolts, washers, battery hold down kti, 2 gauge battery wire, zip ties, electric tape, and your all set.

This is an early picture of it (the rear bumper isn't installed). I later used the top mount battery posts. I basically used Angle Iron welded (its almost retangular) to create a top and bottom and tabs, The top is bolted to the sapre tire crossmember. The bottom has 4 bolts that sandwich the battery together.

thanks for the pics. put mine at the same spot where the battery used to go, prolly make an extra connection somewhere to charge the battery or jump start it. does anybody know where to get those things? will post pics soon

do a search on my setup ,very cheap to do and you dont have to hack up anything

Have you guys seen that mini battery people are using? I dropped my truck at Wallers and he showed me a tiny motorcycle size battery that he has installed in his TY. He says it still puts put 650 cold cranking amps. I was asking him to consider what I could with mine. I had a rear mount kit in the back of the TY and all the wiring to get back there. I even bought the new battery. When I got there I told him I hated the way all the cabling looked and he asked if I would be interested in running one of those little batteries in the stock location. It would save alot of weight and get the battery back under the hood. Where he put it, down low on the core support you couldnt even see it unless you bent over and looked down. I think I will do that and remove all the junk and take the 150.00 new battery back.

i have had this setup for years,the battery is a pc680,i run full msd ,boost a pump and underdrive pulleys,electric fans and never had a problem,and its very small.

Mine is mounted in front of the PS rear tire under the bed. As others have already pointed out, it is NOT replacement friendly because the wheel has to be removed and the battery is a chunk to tilt and manipulate but installed, it tucks away nicely. I just replaced the battery 5 months ago so I should be good for 7 more years :dunno:
