Re: billet specialties street lites

did you by chance weigh them before you mounted tires? a rep from billet specialties has assured me that 17" and possibly 18" sizing is in the works...

Re: billet specialties street lites

7 front 6 rear, they are offset 1/2-3/4 farther than stock

they are MUCH ligher than my 18's i had, half I would say.. my 18's w/ tires were over 220# for 4.

Got a pic from the back of the truck or under...

Looks great, just want to see how much room you really have with fitment.

Re: billet specialties street lites

ill check when i get home today to see if i have found a rub in the steering

no problems to speak of in the back

Re: billet specialties street lites

found the weights on their website:

15x3.5 9.0 lbs
15x4 10.5 lbs
15x6 12.8 lbs
15x7 13.2 lbs
15x8 14.2 lbs
15x10 16.2 lbs
15x12 18.2 lbs
15x14 20.2 lbs
15x15 22.2 lbs

i don't think there are any 15" wheels that will clear 98+ fbody rear calipers w/o grinding.

Re: billet specialties street lites

i've been bugging them for a few months about bigger sizes and i got an email from joe caccavella jcaccavella@billetspecialties.com a week ago.

There are plans in the works for a 17'' version of our Street Lite wheels, but I do not have a estimated ETA of when they will be available. As soon as they are, the information will be posted in all the major trade publications, our website, and so on.

...ahh The light weight Wheel War for 2008:
-New Centerlines vs old Convos
-New Greg Welds (New Weld)
-New American Racing (bought Weld)
-New Billet Specialties
-Summit/Jeg Copies of ProStars
-old Weld ProStars and AlumStars
and a new Taylor Weld (related to Greg but different company) series (http://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=867394)
which have a 16" but looks very very wide.

Dontcha love it...

Re: billet specialties street lites

oops yea sorry i got 6's and 7's i for got.

you are correct they will not fit ls1 front or rear brakes.. they have larger rims in the works AND they have 15" rims in the work that will clear ls brakes.

having a hard time deciding if i should keep holding on to this complete front brake conversion for the truck... they def. dont fit these wheels. i tried one of them on the front of my t/a

Bogarts will, but they are very pricey.

The Bogarts 16" seen here at http://www.bogartracingwheels.com/bselection.htm

or CCW 16" shown here at http://www.ccwheel.com/files/wheelprofiles-model.php?id=classic

are available but most of the internet discussions has been about the following (not
including the previously mentioned Taylor Weld wheels which are to appear later this year) which seemly dont include 16" wheels much but do intend to clear larger ls1 calipers/rotors type brakes.

Re: billet specialties street lites

been driving these for a while now, no problems to report.

it does feel like i can get a rub out of the front on a full lock turn, but i have not been able to find where the rub occurs. like i said only on full lock turns
