I'm getting ready to swap my stock heads on my ty for a pair of l35. Iwas was making a list and I wanted to make sure that I didn't forget anything.

Upper Plenum Gasket
lower intake gaskets
Dist. Gasket
Head Gaskets
Valve cover Gaskets

I wanted to know if is possilbe or a bad idea to reuse the upper and lower intake bolts?
I'm going to get new head bolts.

Anything else I'm forgeting?

reusimg intake bolts is not a problem. don't forget throttle body gasket, and it wouldn't hurt to have new o-rings for your injectors. might also need exhaust gaskets

are you going to get oem type head bolts or arps? you might want to get thread sealer for the bolts.

I personally would recommend ARP bolts. But that's your call.

High temp silicone is what I used for exhaust gaskets.

Put some masking tape on the list. It is very beneficial to label all your electrical connections and vacuum lines as you pull them. You'll thank me when you are looking at the mass of stuff you will be putting to the sides of the engine bay.

If you have any intentions of upgrading the steering components, now would also be the time to do that. You will have all kinds of access(in Sy/Ty terms) to the steering box, steering shaft, idler arm, etc.

Have fun. You're going to have hours of it.

EDIT: Oh, if you can find one, I also suggest a stubby 9/16 inch gear wrench for the distributor hold down bolt. That tool was worth its weight in gold for getting at that bolt! I got mine at Sears. You will also need a power steering pulley puller......I rented one from Autozone.

Yeah I've completely rebuilt the front suspension including zq8 box, shocks ball joints and steering shaft. Just wondering why the arp head bolts? I have a special tool for the dist. hold down bolt.

ARP's are much stronger than stock. They resist movement and stretch much more than stock.

I used ARP part number 134-3601(SB Chevy hex head bolt kit). This head bolt set is actually for a SB but all the bolts you need are in it. You will just have a few left over. I bought these over the 4.3 specific bolts because they are about half the price and contain everything you need.
