Motor in

Finally got around to installing the motor tonight after spending Sunday installing the heads.
Found I need to buy some more things, as if that should be a surprise.
First off, when buying RPM headers, don't waste your money on ARP 12pt studs like I did. You can't get a socket or box wrench around the nut to tighten them. So now I need to buy some bolts & a set of hex head studs (there are 2 holes that you can only fit a stud in due to the proximity of the primary).
Next, believe it when Mike says you need is steering shaft to work with his headers. The Jeep steering shaft has no room to turn without hitting the headers.

There would be lots of room here if it weren't for the mess of a wiring harness. I'll have to think hard about how to route & hide as much of this as possible.

Nice! Great workmanship on the intake, the welds look awesome. Did you make it? It doesn't look like the one mike sells.

What made you stay with a stock-style TB vs. the oval TBs I normally see with the forward facing carb intakes? Are you running a 700R4?

I still have a long way to go.
It could easily take me another 6 months or more to finish before it is ready to run.

Price. I bought the TB off EBAY for cheap.

Yep, the Sy will still run a 700r4 until I can pay off some debt & upgrade to a 4l80e.

Where did you get the lower intake? Is that the same one that rpm sells?

RPM did do this one, but I bought it from Nightdiver when he was getting rid of his stuff.
I still need to have the bottom of the intake milled down so that the ports line up with the heads & provide some additional hood clearance.

Arizona Speed & Marine is the manufacturer.

It uses a later model TPS & IAC. I just made a pigtail adpater for each to plug into the stock harness.
It also require adapting the factory TV bracket from the stock TB to make it work. Unless your running a 4l80e, then it won't matter.

Not quite sure. When I was looking to changeover to the PTE setup I spoke with Mike Lee & told him I wanted the largest I could fit with AC. He told me he'd take care of it.
It should be something like a T72.

I'd have to tow it. It's still a ways away from being done.
I haven't had enough time to finish putting the tranny back together in the Ty either, so it no worky as well.

Thanks. I'm going to have a bead rolled around the edges to give the inserts a more finished look.

I worked this last weekend cleaning up some of the wiring mess, shortening my FAST harness and ditching the hot shot relay. I came up with a good location to hide the coil & map as well as relocate the ignition module so it doesn't die from excessive heat. And a couple of other ideas to clean thing up.
