bs3 install stock harness identity q's

ok so i was sent some plugs for the bs3 crank and cam and then an unidentified plug.

i have stripped down the factory harness considerably, so now i'm at a step where i need 2 things

one, i need to get the bs3 so that it has wiring going to the coil and the distributor using its cam, crank, hei, and possibly 'points' available wiring then the bs3 box can run

two, what do i need to retain about the distributor/coil etc. wiring shown so that the truck retains tach reading and vehicle speed

hmm ok well with all the bs3 talk around here surely someone that doesn't know can give me the names of some that do know :)

There aren't many people running the BS3. Our stock ECM has a fully programmable, real-time 3 Bar tuning solution for peanuts ($175 Moates Ostrich emulator) and free/$25 software to tune it. With real time WBO2 datalogging into TTS DataMaster. I bet there are less than 5-10 trucks running on the streets with a BS3 but hopefully some of them can chime in to help you.

thanks, yes i am hoping very much those few will chime in!

i have a box of stock programming/emulating blah i am trying to get rid of myself.

the cam/crank are left untouched (you just ground the ground loops) if you are running the hei stock style ignition. There is an aftermarket weatherpak plug available (we have some here) that adapts the BS3 harness to the stock distributor if you dont feel like cutting up and soldering the bs3 harness.

Where did you buy the BS3 from? They should be able to provide technical support with the install however if you have a stand alone harness your first purchase should be a detailed wiring schematic for the stock harness so you know what wires will be cut, etc.

thanks for the info mike. I have gone ahead and emailed bs3 for the set up wiring now that i know the correct question to ask!

that takes care of the ignition pretty much, still fuzzy on the other coil plug (one of two) but since the msd only connects to the coil with one plug, maybe the second is redudnant at this point.

after the truck fires ill just be looking for which wire to tap back into to pick up my vehicle speed off the 4l80e TOSS sensor to somewhere on that AGS plug i think
