Re: any way to check fuel pump?
I can't think of a way. But you could try to listen if it's noisy with an electronic "whine" when you first turn the key, or if you jumper the fuel pump test wire (on the firewall) and listen to the fuel pump with the motor off. Most walbros make a significant amount more noise than a stock fuel pump. I can slightly hear the Walbros on both my cars even when the engines are running.
You could run a wideband O2 sensor and watch if it goes lean at WOT, if it doesn't, then your fuel delivery should be adequate.. This is the proper way to monitor the safety of an engine anyways (along with monitoring the knock sensor).
