Usually they were put on at the end of a shift/shift change. They were used to show what parts were put on already, or what was need to be put on, depending on the color used.

The numbers on my firewall matches the last 4 digits of my trucks VIN. I thought they all did.

A lot do. The '92 Sy does, my truck does, the truck before mine (numerically) does. I guess it's just random.

Although. I have weird stuff on my truck all over (on the gas tank - "ED" and "This Sucks")(on the firewall - "Syclone" "Sy1596" and some other numbers). Been a while since I looked at all of them, but they obviously had fun some of the time.

Chris' truck (Sy 1595) says "sh*t" on the gas tank cover IIRC.

Ive got dates written on the back of most of my cladding.... "syclone" used to be on my pass fender well but has worn off over the years of taking it in/out and cleaning it.

Need to start a pic archive of numbers and words written on the trucks during assembly.

One of my numbers is crossed out on my firewall, does that mean my truck is a screw up?

There is a "2" under the power block on the firewall,a number above the trans tunnel and one on the firewall on the very farthest right.

They don't mean jack on the ty's,dunno aboot sy's.
