Hi All,

Right, This is what I have

Stock TY but No Cat (Dont need one here)

Stainless pipe from the turbo to the stock intercooler with a BOV

What I am going to do is fit a full custom 3" exhaust system with electric Cutout From the Turbo back to advertise / demo our exhaust component business [edit] A one off to show what we do/sell in the UK[/edit]

From the searchs Im going to get around a 2/3psi of boost creep

What I need is a list of parts I can order that will give me a reliable controled boost with the Cutout Open & Closed

Hope you can help

Cheers
Fin

What exactly do you mean by exhaust component business? If you are going to start build a SyTy exhaust, I would think twice about it, there a some good products already out there and unless your product is dirt cheap and or a superior design, i think you will have a hard time selling it in mass.

Re: Tell me what to fit

Hi,
Nooo ya get me wrong, I just sell Mandral bends and straights, Box's and so on. (In the UK only). www.dynoflow.co.uk is me site..... have a look you will see what I mean.

Anyone with a welder can build a system up how ever they want. Im using the TY to Demo the Electric cut outs we have (you know them as BadlanzHPE ones in the USA). The biggest market over here in the UK is the Jap Turbo market....... But I'll me dammed if I have to buy a Jap car..lol.

So the TY was the ideal auto to do the job....

Re: Tell me what to fit

I Should be able to Fabricate my own DP... as Ive got a tig welder and the 316L grade internaly polished bends will cope well with the heat. The Flange can also be copyed and laser cut in stainless

The Stock DP is quite squashed on the bends so I can see it being quite a restriction on the turbo.

I'll do some research on the Down pipe

Any other reccomendations ?

That's the wrong questions to ask... ;) There is a whole laundry list of stuff to do, what are you plans for your truck, performance wise?

Re: Tell me what to fit

Well to be honest, Im not really going to need anything more than stock performance.

Having faster spool up is nice, and possably a little more bhp , if that comes from making the exhaust modes work with out overboost cut out problems I'll be happy

I dont mind spending a few :2cents: on parts.... to make it run right

Re: Tell me what to fit

OK, Ultimate Chip ordered. From what I can see this will control the boost in the PSI range I need

Ya right Mark....the money has started to flow....lol

Thanks for you help cdezzz
With the Ultimate chip and lets say Im happy to keep 17psi as the max boost level (will run it on 99 octaine pump gas here) what other of the do I neeed to do, I know everyone talks about the fuel pump...and Ive got to drop / change the fuel tank soon

Re: Tell me what to fit

I've got a spare A-frame for three pods -I'll show you my setup. It looks good. I also have another 3 Bar MAP if you are after one.

Got 12 spark plugs as well - UR5s are now known as BPRS F5 or something. I'll dig them out. There is a UK dealer though but took me AGES to find him!

Re: Tell me what to fit

Nice to speak to you on the phone Mark, Plug wise I think I'll go with the UR6IX (as indecated on syty as slightly cooler than the UR5 and better for knock) Irridium plugs. Ive been using similar on a number of Cars and Trucks in the last few years never had a problem with them, the Jap Turbo market seem to like the Irridium plugs with there cars if thats anything to go by (mind you they just buy the latest things because there expencive..lol)

Re: Tell me what to fit

When are you planning on installing all the stuff for the ultimate?

You'll need the AFPR, new fuel pump (advisable), a fuel hanger for the new pump, seeing as the old ones tend to be screwed or so I understand. Although with your new tank, maybe you have that already? Is it plastic or metal by the way?

You'll need the wideband O2 installed as well and also the wiring for the ECM. IT seems to me to be a kind of "all or nothing" install.

I am waiting to change the fuel pump for the ime being and need the hanger then mine goes in. And a locking ring for the fuel hanger...£10 for mine ($4 in the US :( )

Re: Tell me what to fit

Over the winter months at some point... I'll assemble all the bits needed and get it done. The First job is Suspension and the Exhaust.

after that

I'll do the tank(stock style steel) and fuel pump also plugs...... Then its a case of install the fish & chip's stuff
