You could try a mini starter, I don't have one on the Sy yet but the 2-3 I've put on other cars make them start almost instantly, well it seems like it compared to the old starters. I just used the ones for a '96 BB truck.

is it cranking fast but not firing right away, or cranking slow?

If its turning over and taking that long to start up , maybe your cranking fuel tables need to be adjusted .

Chances are your Fuel Pump Relay has taken a dump and your Oil Pressure Relay is providing the power for the fuel pump once oil pressure builds.

its cranking normal but takes a while for the engine to actually fire up.

the alternator, starter, battery & IAC are less than a year old.

as far as the tables, i only saw the tables under "cold start/run".
do you happen to know what tables to use for a warm engine start?

Re: speed up engine turnover?

Mine has always taken a moment to fire. I do have fuel pressure in startup so I think it's something else. Whatever, I just deal with it. Takes quite a bit longer on the first start from cold than when it's warm. Do you notice a difference? I sometimes wonder if there's a different computer sequence when cold than when hot.
