Someone please explain

HELL YEA I GOT BOOST!
Was hoping someone could please explain to me why I'm seeing the Sy/Ty crowd talk about the 315's in the rear and the 245's or 275's in the front not hooking. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

How does more rubber not hook.....

Thanks for any info.

Re: Someone please explain

mine hooks pretty good with the 275 40's on front and 315 35's on the rear. i am running bfg gforce ta kd's all the way around, and only running around 32lbs of air. anything over 8-10lbs of boost on the launch will make them spin, but not for long.

I had sumitomos before in the same size and could do 100ft awd burnouts with them. they hooked horrible.

the big factor is sidewall height. the less sidewall, the less flex you can have and it shocks the tires harder and breaks them loose easier. notice on drag cars in slow-mo you can see the tires really wrinkle up on the sidewalls, absorbs the shock

So really it's just matter of running good quality tire when you step on up to 17's. Thanks.
