What the hell is this bolt?

I found this bolt nestled between the distributor and the intake. It's about three inches long. What is it mighty SyTy gods?

is that a nut, or part of the bolt? looks kinda long for it to be an exhaust manifold bolt or a belhousing bolt, maybe you got small hands?

For the thermostat housing? Exhaust manifold stud?

I'll check the thermostat right now. It's acting like its stuck open. Caused me to fail emissions

Check to see if you have any missing bolts on the lower intake or exhaust manifolds .

Yeah it looks like it goes to the thermostat. The rear bolt doesn't match the front. The front bolt looks like this one. I'll check the exhaust manifold to be sure.

Too long for the t-stat. Lower intake is my bet. Some like that is used at the rear of the lower intake for engine lift brackets. A similar bolt was used to support the DP bracket at the bell housing.

Check to see if you have any missing bolts on the lower intake or exhaust manifolds .

x2. don't know much bolts of the sytys, but the lower intake bolts of mine look like this one.

And there is a studded bolt in the water pump. Upper drivers side to attach the brace that goes to the tensioner/AC compressor support.

i was gonna say water pump, drivers side upper for the a/c bracket to pump anti vibration rod, or accessory bracket to cyl head stud and nut.

gonna lean more towards water pump though, because i think i remember those accessory bracket studs being black

Exhaust manifold, passenger side, doubles as bolt to mount bracket for IC.

And the water pump uses 4 plain headed bolts.

Drivers side top bolt, is a stud. Bracket goes from there up to AC compressor bracket to provide extra support.
