Well, of course the gauges would have to face the driver more. That is why I mentioned visibility. Gauges like water temp., trans temp., oil temp., etc. that can be monitored by positioning the gauges so that normal points the needles straight up. Keep the driver's side for fuel press., vac/boost and wide band. Again, just a thought...Jim

Why on Earth would someone want to gawk across the passenger cabin to try to read those gauges? About as useful as a screen door on a submarine, IMO...

The idea was to use periphial(sp) vision only while driving. While stopped you could get a better look. That was why I suggested the needles pointing up for normal ranges. The European version would not angle the gauges to the left side of the cab enough, I don't think. Screen door on a submarine is pretty damn funny, unless you are the one in the sub.

IMO you might be better off mounting gauges in a cupholder pod like some members have done. Somebody was making a really nice fiberglass 4 gauge pod that sat over the cupholders. The other option is to mount gauges above the radio where the vents are. Even in a small truck, trying to glance over to the right A pillar is kinda distracting, even moreso when trying to negotiate traffic.

i built one of these for three tweeters, hardly even see it when driving, i doubt gauges in one of these would be very useful though. as for the european driver side being our passenger side, from all of my research the only s-series that where right hand drive are second gens. and mail trucks, but neither one of those would help here.

I would not recommend them unless the new pressure sensors are more reliable than the old ones which I have/had in my truck:
"Autometer mechanical boost and SPA dual gauges (boost, trans temp & fuel pressure, intercooler temp). Also, gauge power switches (to reset max stored values in SPA's) and TCC lock up switch."
I removed both of them from my truck several years ago. That was $600 plus down the crapper. If I feel froggy someday, I *might* shell out the $200 plus they want for two new pressure senders and have another go at it...
I would not recommend them unless the new pressure sensors are more reliable than the old ones which I have/had in my truck:

i have the first style oil temp/pres. and boost/egt. these don't change background colors like newer style. my pillar looks almost like yours, except i have a blacked out digital fuel pressure gauge at top. i have been thinking about pulling the SPAs and going w/autometers, myself.

Came with my truck when I bought it from Mark, the tranny and IC temp gauge. imo he did a good job picking them out because they blend in with the interior of the truck really well.

not trying to say or mean YOU are trying to show off but that what someone might think. if you have a lot of extra gauges that need to be installed then there are lots of other places to put them. for instance, i have no a/c or heat so i have room for gauges in my vents. i already have one in my driver side vent. you can also do the radio delete/relocate and put gauges there. hth.
