does anyone know any info on this,I would love to see the corvette plant etc,maybe a few of us could drive over there etc.i know there was talk about doing this.

I've spoken with the Plant and they are more than happy to have us. I'm still trying to talk to the museum to see what they have to offer us. At this point it looks like the plant will win. Hopefully i'll get through to the museum tomorrow.

What'll happen is for those that would like to take the tour with the group, you'll be able to check that off when you register for nats, and it will add $xx.xx to your registration fee. Since not everyone will want to go, or maybe not get to town in time for it (Looking at Friday early afternoon) this is the only way we see fit to charge for it.

Organized or not, I'd like to do that. Last time I was there I didn't get the chance. Thursday afternoon, or Friday morning would probably work best. I'm sure their closed Saturday and Sunday, and there will probably be some group activity for Friday afternoon. The only other time would be Thursday morning, but most people won't be there yet.

All that is based on GM not going under.:(

I have been through the museum a few times. It is pretty fun. You can read a little history, ect.

You should do it.....we go every time the zr1 gathering is held at BG in May! This year we are going, but they say things will be a lot slower........no matter though......I want to see a new zr1 get bolted together this year!!!

I've been to both, and the Holley plant tour. All very interesting.

GM made a lot of neat stuff that never saw the light of day.

The plant tours only run M-F but the museum is open Sat and Sun hours.

I am planning on coming in Thursday night to be sure I don't miss the group assembly plant tour on Friday.
If the group tour doesn't happen I will still be taking the plant tour on my own on Friday.

The museum is something we could do casually on Sunday morning before getting on the road to home.
I have seen the museum and its worth it for sure!
There is one of every model year plus lots of one off race only cars, crash test vehicle, lots of rare engines on stands with info placards.
If you are really into vette info it is a bit overwhelming.
There is no way you can read all the info in one visit.

I have been to the museum, I definately want to take a plant tour though on friday (assuming its actual open).

Corvette plant tour would be sweet. I've been through the Viper plate in Michigan a couple times. It's badass inside there.

I have been to BG for a few yrs now for the buicks and never have i once been to either place.

I only like to see Corvettes in my rear view mirror with really pissed off middle age guys in them. :)

It's a neat place... wonder with GM going through it's stuff how long the perks will last with Corvettes?

Ahh... nothing like a Deep Deep recession to kill cool things. :(

I mean performance cars from major manufactures. I think we are headed for a group of econo-green-electric bumper cars which are no fun to drive.

However I'll just find a way to mod those to suit my driving habits :)
