"O-Dogg"
Hello everybody. I would like to introduce myself- My name is Mike O. (aka "O-Dogg")
Anyway, I recently bought a pretty clean '94 GMC Jimmy SLT (4X4) from the orig owner and I LOVE the truck! Digital dash, with a nearly identical interior to the '93 Ty's (minus the gauges and console shifter..with lower armrest
) ... so I checked out a couple things on here briefly before...
BUT, now I have a REASON to be on here. I just purchased a Jimmy that was converted to a Typhoon "clone".... aesthetically, that is. The truck was built around '97 with only 24,000 orig miles on it. (I guess 11 years ago- the Ty/Sy parts were still readily available, but I'm sure they were still not cheap) The Jimmy is a 1985... still has the orig dash (and column shifter, of course) The interior was swapped from a nice ('92-'94) Bravada.
The Typhoon is my DREAM truck and has been- but I'd NEVER considering doing a pro air ride set-up on an AUTHENTIC Ty... but NOW, I will be able to make that happen.
2 more things:
1) My "Tyclone" is a 4 X 4 ! (LOL)
2) The "Tyclone" has a '92 LT1 engine under the hood.
It can actually pull away from a STOCK Typhoon, per the owner.
(although, I'm sure not in the rain!) The 4 X 4 can't really handle the extra 100hp from the 5.7 liter LT1
I can't wait to pick it up! I will put some pics on MotorTopia.com - please let me know what ya think. THANKS
