If i'm going to go to a track, I'm going to be trying to beat my previous times. I don't want to go to a track labled 'slow' by people that have been to nats. I don't care if i'm racing against some 14 second trucks.

Some people, like me, would only go to nats for the track event.

now...i wouldn't drive my truck there cuase it'd prolly not make it....but i'd trailer it. We'll see what happens next year.

Have you ever been to the Nats? You really need to try it. Yes, its cooler to have your truck there but i bet if you flew out next year and just hung out with everybody you would have a great time. Im not a big fan of driving 600 miles either. We all wish it was closer but i cant understand why people like Morgan, Mike, Keith, Denny, Aaron, Bob, Dennis, and others can make the 1200 mile trip from the east coast and nobody west of Denver can drive that far. It has been in KC almost every year so it would be fair to everybody. If you look at a map of the US and point to the middle of it you come pretty close to KC.

Oh yeah...if you fly out next year ill buy you your first beer. :tup:

I'm sure i'd have fun Joe...But for me the purpose is to enjoy your truck with other trucks...I wonder how many go without their truck, have fun, but sit and watch the racing wishing their's was there. I know i'd be one! Like I said, no biggie, knowone up here is mad, I guess I just don't understand why can't be moved around every few years or so. Like I said, i'd drive to FL if I knew one in the next following years would be in the NW. I'll show somday i'm sure.

I did! Yeah I know I wish I had a truck there but Nats would be absolutely worthless w/o the people such as Renz and Will :lol:

guess I just don't understand why can't be moved around every few years or so.

Like I said, i'd drive to FL if I knew one in the next following years would be in the NW.

Problem is, most people wouldn't. They'd just wait until next year when they don't have to drive so far. And then the majority of the east coasters wouldn't show up for the same reason.

For me it was $$$ .. (How did I not see this thread when it was made.. hmm..)

Runner up would be the distance away. I have no problem driving my truck anywhere. But driving it 1500 miles and then making a shit load of runs and then driving it back another 1500 miles might be pushing it. :dunno: I'm looking into renting a trailer and truck for this year though, just so I can show up to my first nats. I'd like to drive up and back with another truck, or a few other trucks that way if something does happen we can at least help people out.

too far to drive, and i wouldn't want to go if i didnt have my truck...

if it wasnt too far i probably still wouldnt go cause i wouldnt want the whole community to see what a piece of shit my truck is, and how slow it is

I actually made it to the last nats, but I didnt take or drive a syty there....I've been shaking down my new stock syclone lately....Taken it out of town 4 times already...400 mile round trips each plus the driving around.....anything issue that has come up, I fixed it right on the spot and forgot about it...Thanksgiving weekend I replaced the radiator with a new Autozone one due to a core leak, while away from home....I just carry a shitload of tools under the bedcover .... I think it could handle a 2000 mile roundtrip next year....

Thats right! 2400+ miles roundtrip for me in 05' was not as bad as it sounds. You can do it! Plus we'll get free beer in OK . The only way I wont be there again is $ or death. Start a TX caravan Servando!
