Re: vent deflectors

I had them on my last typhoon. (I'm assuming you are talking about the window ones). I don't like the look but like the functionality (can leave window open a few inches and keep interior temps down, and rain out if you drive in the rain)

Re: vent deflectors

I've seen them by many names....window vent deflectors. ...vent deflectors....window vents....etc.....but I mean the type you stick on your doors to let fresh air in and keep the rain out.....sorry for the mass confusion if there was any!

I've never seen them on a SyTy, but would advise to get ones that do not adhere with PSA tape. They make them that fit into the window channel.

Meh. Honestly I don't think they add to the looks of our trucks but they are functional as hell. I love being able to crack the windows on my S10 when I park it during the summer.

Oh...rain guards.

Had them on the Sy and loved them. They were smoke gray and you could not tell the window was cracked open from the outside.

This is how I installed mine and they work great. It's all in how much effort you put into cleaning everything and following the instructions.

I'd recommend just the opposite. Window channel deflectors tend to crush the weatherstripping and you'll have to replace it if you ever want to remove the deflectors. I've had taped smoked Ventvisor deflectors on mine for close to 18 years now and they seem to hold up just fine.

Noted, but when you removed them?? They were on my Tahoe prior to my purchase, and paint came of with them.

Re: vent deflectors

One of the first things I got for my Ty when I brought her home. Got the ones that stick to the edge. Had to loosen the mirror so I could properly install them. Love'em. Personally, I think it looks better with them, and I like being able to crack the windows. Sorry, but on a hot summer day, leather gets really hot. Anything I can do to cut that down a few degrees is a good buy in my book.

I had them on my typhoon. I didn't care for them. I didn't like the way they looked and I didn't think they were that functional useful. If my Syclone had them I would have taken them off. My trucks generally don't sit out in the sun so it's seems that missed out one of benefit of them.

As a matter of fact I will, within next couple of months. One of them is slightly cracked and I'm not sure whether I'll get a new pair or not. This will be a resto-mod project (stock looks, highly streetable ~550hp) with my son and everything that radically changes the appearance of the truck will have to go. Deflectors may or may not be one of them.

They're attached to the thin plastic strip just above the window, not sheetmetal, so there's no risk of paint coming off.
