Brian said your third picture down is correct. He said just put the valve in the bushing(or sleeve or whatever you want to call it)and smack it on the side with the plastic handle of a screwdriver. You can even lightly tap it on the table. This helps knock down sharp edges that may be hindering movement.
If it is having trouble going into the valve body, insert the valve and sleeve into the valve body till it hits the trouble spot then Smack the valve body in the trouble spot with the handle of the screwdriver. He said it sounds rough but if it is really bad,pick up the valve body with both hands and bump it squarely on a hard surface(preferably metal clad workbench)and see if that helps.

Can you take a look on the aluminum sleeve that you have for that valve and see if there is a letter on it?
There are 7 different sizes out there:
B,A,N,M,L,K,F
B is the firmest shift
F is the softest shift
Wondering if you may want to upgrade it depending on what size you already have.

For anybody following this, we've kinda figured out a couple of things.
As in the above post, accumulator with a "B" on the sleeve is the firmest shifting capable accumulator and is not available by itself. This also means it is the largest. It may explain why it will only fit the way Jesse's valve body question page has it. The lineup correct in the book but the order is wrong. You must interchange the valve and the sleeve's order or it won't go in. Make sure the spring stays on the end of the small tip that protrudes off the end of the valve. You may want to put a little petroleum jelly on the tip of the valve to hold the spring to it, then stick the valve into the sleeve and then insert it into the valve body. This way you don't have to worry about the spring getting cocked in the bore at an angle.

Also. A 3-4 WOT upshift sleeve can only be found on Syty, F-bodies, Corvettes, and police issue 700r4. It can be identified by looking at the end of the plunger the is in the sleeve. Here's a link:

Look where it says the 93 and 94 are located. The plunger is matched to the sleeve of course. This increases line pressure rise at high rpm. If this valve is leaking or the incorrect valve is used or if your seals are bad in your tranny, you won't get sufficient pressure to enable the upshift.
These two items may be yet another reason Syty warranty replacement transmissions aren't capable of the firm shifts they should have and the wot 3-4 upshift they should have the capability of performing.

If you aren't doing it yourself, make sure the tranny shop uses YOUR ORIGINAL valve body. Just any old 700r4 body won't work. I'd bet this is why the syty valve body has it's own part number(I got this evidence from the archives, just don't have the actual part number)

Once we finish with mine and George Blake's I'll help as much as I can. It all seems hard but once you watch the videos and get all the info it's not too bad. Ask Mr. Hartman, he'll even tell you it's not bad. Lots of little things. I'll keep you posted and once we are finished with mine we'll talk. If you plan on doing a rebuild order you parts soon. We are stuck because my parts are on backorder. I'll e-mail ya.
