Transfer Case?

Is there any difference between a Sy / Ty AWD transfer case and a AWD Oldsmobile Bravado one? I assume that the gear ratio may or may not be different. But what about the actuall fitment and contruction? Will the Olds' case bolt up? Will it ake the HP?

There is a difference between Sy and Ty Transfer case, so you may want to rephrase your question.

I did a quick search on the SyTy archive (finally they are up on www.syty.org)

"Syclone: Code HP. Has small rear output yoke, similar to turbo 350 trans.
May have 3-pinion planataries, WITH needle bearings.

Typhoon: Code JK. Has large rear output yoke, same as Turbo 400 trans. Has
4-pinion planataries, with NO needle bearings.

The Bravada in 90 & 91 is a HP, same as Syclone. Bravada 92-94, is JK, same
as Typhoon. They are interchangeable, except for rear yoke. This can be
changed on the driveshaft with little effort."

race or get outta the way
they case is different between the sy and the ty. However if I do know that if its the viscous clutch youve got a problem with you can swap that between the 2. My buddy just did this when helping out a sy owner that was selling his sy to a guy who flew from TN to Nj to buy his sy.
Sure hope that guy wasnt you?
