Re: selling or buying these rare trucks
I sold an 87 Regal T-Type that for some reason was half Limited trim from the factory. For $10,000. Original motor and trans. New bare metal up paint. CA car but burgundy interiod. Original wheels. Had ATR headers, exhaust, Red chip and pump. Super clean car. Needed the garage space for the Typhoon I found. Had a hard time selling it too. Even ebay didn't work. I seen rusted out junk GN's go for $8000 out here. Junk people drag out here when they move to this town.
Got all the Sy's I want and the Typhoon I looked a long time to find. Been going over all them trying to make them all 100% with nothing needed. So when parts are really hard to get I don't need to worry about completing them. Sad part today is the majority that do buy them now, are so clueless. As well as the sellers who misrepresent them. Makes for more confusion.
I bought my one Sy new. And lived near Pas and GM in Mi where the Typhoons were built. Don't follow the boards or net. Yet people still try to pass on incorrect knowledge to me with their origin and original history.
In college, a lady saw my original truck. She then brings to class a book she wrote as a project in the GM college in flint. All about the Syclone. From design inception to the last penny GM lost in making the whole project. Its marketing and sales impact for other GM models. Really wish I had that book today. Forget her last name too.
