I have had a bit of trouble since the weather has gotten warmer....the gear box has more oil than it should have... i have been driving like that the whole winter, but now it is spring and my gear box is starting to make problems. "dont know if there is a connection"
it started like when a manual gear box cluth is warn down, 1 and 2 gear was better of whith less power "feels like the cluth, is not following the revs.
And today it would not go in to revers and it was going forward in N seems like it has jumped one place. I have been under the car today, and on the the way to the ramp the revers was working fine again ?? it seems like the cabel or the cable ending is NOT original... there was a long "pull spring" pulling the gear arm back under the car, i dont have a reapair man. so i dont have any idea what it looks like normaly. this car is my first with a autom. gear box so be nice to a novice. any ideas?

The mount for your manual shifter lever is bent or damaged. The one that's up on the pan. Needs to be fixed. If it's been this way a long time, you may even broken hard parts from cross leakage between gears. Don't drive one with the fluid way overfilled. There are many vents and valves that need the air gap to allow the fluid to blow off. What MAY be happening is you are checking the fluid when it's cold. Let the truck get warmed up and THEN pull the dipstick out. This lets the converter fill and your fluid level will go down slightly.
