Re: ProtoTy Project

Well this project has had a slow go for a little while. I had to rebuild the wiring harness due to some sensor mis-wires and ECM location turned out to be no good. However that has been straightened out and I have been making small steps of progress lately. The Intrepid fans are in and wired, unfortunately one of the fans is bad. I have another set to use so that may get fixed this weekend. I went to the junk yard and got a cluster with a tach, got all the factory gauges working. Speedo was a bit of a challenge as the 95 does not have a DRAC I had to get one from the junk yard and wire it in to get the speedo and the ECM speed input to work. I have installed all the charge pipe couplings and sealed up the intake system. At this point I have to finish the vacuum lines, find and install a coolant overflow bottle and re-run the tranny lines and install the tranny cooler. Haven't taken any pictures at this point there isn't much to show, except for the rims I scored. So here is a peak at them (and the truck with all the panels back on it!!!

Re: ProtoTy Project

Thanks,

I think the best part of this whole thing is that I don't owe any money to anyone on this. Strictly built on cash!!!

Transmission lines are on the agenda for the week, Talked a little too much shit this week to a friend and I have to drive this thing the mile to the local speed shop to show him that it really exists.

Re: ProtoTy Project

Well I have driven it to the shop and my shit talking was backed up!! I have been driving the truck around the neighborhood, it seems its not too happy. I'll have to get someone to look at the tune and see if something isn't working or if it doesn't like the upgrades. I did get an update for the truck today.
TIRES

245/45-19 Goodyear Eagle TA. I got an awesome deal on them, so not too much longer before I go for tags!!!

Re: ProtoTy Project

So after spending the day with Brassmonkey, yesterday. He kindly reminded me that its been almost a year since I updated this thread. My apologies for the lack of updated on the project but it has been a slow year. I put too much confidence in some side jobs/money that came up. Well in short none of them came through so not many updates till recently.

New windshield

I got the down pipe wrapped, the charge pipe wrapped and finally figured out how to fit a filter on this thing. Not after relocating the overflow canister and re-routing the transmission lines to just the cooler and skipped the radiator.

And I got the tires mounted at the sacrifice of my elbow. 35 series tires are a real pain in the ass to get off!!!

This is a cool build and you are doing great work! Are you not worried about the poly mounts melting in this? Because they will.

Looking forward to seeing the finished product!

Because he didn't want to F*ck with the frame bolts, but still wanted a smooth ride. ;)

Re: ProtoTy Project

I have used KB Headers and a custom 3" DP so the exhaust doesn't get as close to the mounts as the stock stuff does. If the right one melts I'll replace it with a solid mount

Got it in for an inspection. Passed, kind of, I have a few things that I need to get buttoned up before inspection next year.

I went for an alignment and found out that the Pitman arm and Idler arm were both bad and had to be changed. I have to take it in tomorrow to get the allignment dialed in. I have also been trying to adjust the boost pressure and had a failure in the regulator, so I have to wait for that to show up.

Re: ProtoTy Project

Well I've been driving it for a few months. it runs fairly well. There are sone tuning issues that still need addressed.

However it seems that the suspension is a bit lack luster...........Time for some upgrades!!!!

Getting time to lose the torsion bars!!

Re: ProtoTy Project

If you look at the mark on the left you can see about a 1' hop in the skid mark. This is a serious indication of some of the corrections that I need to make.
