problem with water pump

I have a problem,I have replaced many parts:
new radiator
new water pump
new thermostat
Flex-alite fans
but when i start the car for a 15 minutes at idle,the engine overheats but everything is working fine, but the water sensor isnt picking up the the temp so the fans dont work.
I suspected the problem might be from the water pump (which is a standard S10 waterpump)so i changed it.
but still the water isnt circulating in the radiator.
Does anybody have any idea what could be the problem?
I'v been dealing with this problem for 6 months now.
I miss drivin my Typhoon. =(

I will try running it without the thermostat.
but i remember that the mechanic told me that the water pump is pumpin water in reverse.
is there a difference between the Typhoon water pump & the S10's water pump?

is your radiator plugged or lower hose collasped? there is suppose to be a spring in the lower hose.

i don't know !!! do you mean the hose which has a spring inside it
you know the mechanic told me the water is not circling inside the radiator this makes me really confused
i changed the water pump 4 times and it's still the same every time he told that the water pump is not working as it should it's spining in the opisit way i dont know what th F**k is going on and another mechinic told that every car which has a one pully belt should rotate in the opisit way
am realy confused

Check the lower hose as suggested multiple times on here. Not sure if they mean "reverse-flow" water pump or "reverse rotation", (for serpentine belt systems)? Reverse-flow sends coolant to the heads first, then the block. I don't think the SBC or 4.3 use that system. Are you letting it run with the radiator cap off until it gets to operating temp and the thermostat opens?

Make sure your water pump is for a serpintine belt( reverse cycling). If you put in a "normal" pump it will try to push water the worng way. That might be a another problem, what pump did you buy for your ty?

Do you have the belt on the correct way?
The spring in the lower hose is to prevent the hose from collapsing under high RPM conditions. Will have no affect at idle.

Well the Ty has a reverse ROTATION pump. The pump does NOT pump the water in reverse. Someone needs to check for you. I don't know if the S10 pump is reverse rotation.

Either way the water flows from the rad to the water pump into the engine out through the thermostat and out to the radiator.

If you have a standard rotation water pump you're gonna have problems like you are facing.

With the radiator (not the surge tank) cap off do you see water? Once the motor heats up is the water moving at all?

i don't know i think he use the 1991 s10 pickup water pump is it the same ?

they told me when the motor heats up the water moving a little but not as it should
so... should i change the water pump ??

you've changed it 4 times - take the thermostat out and see if the water flows. if it does then your thermostat is busted or your pump is rotating the wrong way.

test the t stat in hot water and see if it opens - easy to see.

You need to verify the correct rotation of the pump..

wondering if mine is the correct one - certainly looks right..

could your pulleys be on the wrong way? I know the guy in sauid arabia connected my AC up the wrong way years ago.

Are you sure it's actually overheating? We know how reliable the factory gauges are. First step is to verify that it is actually overheating. Then, try removing your t-stat.

I don't mean to sound like an ass. But dude, you need to be doing your own work. Every reply you make you say a mechanic is telling you something and your relaying it on here. No offense but if you can't work on one of these trucks yourself then you really don't need one.

There are only a few things that can cause something like this, almost all have been said above. If its not the hoses, the pump or the thermo. The only other thing it could possibly be would be a blockage in the block somewhere.

and if the fans aren't kicking on it will overheat anyway.
