NA LT1 & 4L60E In a Typhoon Body?

Ok so I have the unfinished 85 Jimmy: LT1, AWD, LS1 brake swap, C5wheels... etc etc

It needs interior, body, and a bunch of other random stuff...

BUT I could get a Typhoon that needs a motor.. mhhmm... and swap what I have over to the Ty... he he

In a nutshell I want the clean body Typhoon with clean interior. With reliable power… heh
- Swap my NA LT1 w/ 4L60E over to the Ty w/ mounts, notch the frame for the A/C, etc
- Swap my LS1 brakes to the Ty
- Put the C5 wheels on the Ty with spacers in the rear…

So what exactly do I need to make the Ty gauges work? A Tachometer Signal Divider? http://mysite.verizon.net/vze7erz1/id1.html#tsdmod

Then what about ECM? Will the one I have in my Jimmy plug into the Ty harness?
Attached is a picture of mine in the Jimmy…

Now remember the runs and “drives”… It just needs some finishing…

Anyone have any input on this before I go and buy this typhoon?
THANKS SO MUCH!

Well.... since you dont have a TY engine, i would swap the
Brakes
wheels
engine
and trans.... (just make sure it AWD)
Just dont cut the original harness so in the future you could always put a 6 back in.

The shop where i work we have a few customers with impala SS's. There 4400+ lbs most of them are high to mid 12 second cars with stock lower ends (heads, cam, tuning, minor suspension mods), a few dipping into the 11's with slicks, more engine work and nitrous. I know its not a turbo car but the LT1 can be impressive and RELIABLE as hell. and since you didnt cut up your harness you can go back to original if needed or for selling purposes.

thats exactly what i was thinking. I just dont know too much about the harness and ECm and such with swapping into a Ty.

Well its a littl bit costly but worth everypenny - you could use a painless harness. i will make hook up EXTREMELY easy and neat, you can mount the computer where you want, and only use the wires you will need. it will also make it easier to figur out how to make the factory gauges work.

you might have to tap into the factory ty harness for , speedo , and a few other things but as long as you dont butcher th factory harness to bad you should be ok....

FYI if you get a hold of 93 corvette LT1 accessories brackets you wont need to notch the frame for AC...

I have the same engine tranny combination in my 37 chev. I used a painless harness Part # 60502 & 60505. Went pretty well (the swap). Now the car goes even better.
