HVAC Controls

I pulled my HVAC Control out to finish installing my indiglo gauges. Now, I can't get it back on. There is one cable that controls where the air blows that is so tight, I can't get enough slack to connect it back. I pulled so hard it popped another wire loose that I had to track down behind the radio. Any tips or suggestions on getting this in?

Pull your entire dash apart to see where it's binding. Give it extra slack and then reassemble the dash again.

I know you didn't want to hear that, but it sounds like that's what you need to do.

OOOOOOOOHHH!!!!!!!! Can you PLEASE check what bulbs are in your idiot lights!? PLEASE! There should be a part number or specification number listed on the plastic piece... You would be a life saver, I've been looking for this information for 4 days now...

I have tried that, but I couldn't really get back there. I will try it again. Get my other car back from the shop tomorrow, so the Ty goes back into the Garage. If I have to pull the dash again, I will look at the bulb part numbers for you.

Anyone else with some suggestions?

By entire dash, I mean you may have to disassemble the entire driver's side dash.. I had to in order to get some security system wiring out because it was bound like you're saying too.

Wait, don't rip the whole dash. The control face is attached to the mechanism by 2 1/4 inch screws. Remove those, plug everything in, situate the control face, and just before you close it up, put in the two screws and mount the face panel. Its tight, i use a open end wrench, and some patience. I've done it like 5 times now, and everytime i wish there was more slack, but just like everything else in our trucks... patience goes a long way. Let me know if you need further assistance.
