Hey guys, i'm new to the forum as you can see by my post count. I own a 2001 Silverado with a 5-speed 4.3 and have recently stumbled across the chance to get some sy/ty manifolds and crossover. but first i've got a question, how much would u say is too much to spend on the manifolds and crossover with 88k mi on em? anyways, i'm just looking pretty much to be pointed in a direction as far as what turbo you think i should go with for my truck to go with these manifolds. i was planning on going with the stock ECU with a FMU and warlbro inline pump to up the fuel to the motor. would anyone suggest somethint otherwise and if so where might i go to get a dif ecu. also what would be a good intercooler to use? i plan on only running 8 or 9 psi at first, until i can buy internals needed to up the boost. Anything i left out that you guys could tell me would really be appreciated thanks

Re: Fullsize Clone

Manifolds are in the 2-4 hundred range.I wouldn't worry about an IC,just use alky injection.Get a 255 Walbro intank pump.

Re: Fullsize Clone

This topic comes up from time to time...I'm assuming most of the people that inquire about this don't end up doing the conversion because we never see or hear of any updates again....With that being said, welcome to syty.net.... I think if you decide to put your truck out of service while you adapt a turbo system that's going to blow your motor anyway, you'll be going about this the wrong way from the start...If you're really serious about this, build another motor on a stand then swap it in....you will most certainly blow up your engine if you attempt this the easy way....then you'll really be in trouble without a stock motor to swap back in.....Do the research....all of the info and links you need to do this is here....you'll also find a ton of pics in various galleries posted in peoples sigs....even though you mention 8 or so lbs. of boost, what fun is that in a full size truck? why go through the trouble? might as well do NOS and be done with it....The crossover might work but it wasn't designed for your truck....that's why we don't know....questions like that won't get you very far here...buy the manifolds, mock them up and let us know if they fit....chances are they'll fit as your truck doesn't seem like it would be as cramped as ours.... you really should attempt this conversion as this "syty conversions" section needs some life anyway....good luck....

ATR headers are a nice improvement. If you've got the money for them, go for it.
