Re: Friday night racing
Thanks Wade!!!!!!!
The track was not preped real well IMHOP... If I left with much more than about 3lbs of boost it would just light the back tires up. The first pass there beside Heather it shook the tires so hard the GPS came unhooked and it hit me in the helmet LOL.
Heather went 12.90 with a 2.40 60' on 15lbs of boost and shifting by it's self at 4200RPM.
If you look at that video real close the back window of her truck is wide open about mid track till she was coming to a stop at the end.
I ended up running a best of 11.0@128mph with a lame 2.1 60" leaving just 2lbs of boost to hook.
The last pass of the night I felt the Camaro do somthing strange and I let out of it. Parked it back in the pits and shut it down.. went to re-start and had a very tough time getting it going.
It was clicking after that... pulled out of the track and pop'ed the drivers valve cover off. The #1 exhaust rocker was loose but none of the parts were damaged(pushrod/rocker/lock) So that tells me the exhaust seat had cocked sideways in the head leaving the valve a touch down.
I drove back to the Motel and then to the show ... and just drove home with it on 5cyl.
Coolant temps were 161deg and oil pressure stayed at 72lbs. It's not puffing out of the breather so I know it's not a bottom end problem.
I was told 3yrs ago these used heads I have would last 1yr so I got my use out of them. When they fixed them the last time there was 5 loose valve seats.
Glad I made it home and glad I got to see everyone it was too much fun!
Congrats on making some great Passes Alex!!!!.. I think we can get the Intake air temps down with a nice frontmount in there!
