Do I Have Tranny Problems?

Hi,

My truck just started vibrating when accelerating. Basically when cruising along and I accelerate say enough to pass a car the truck will vibrate for a couple seconds and then off we go. Also I get this same problem about 20% of the time when letting off the gas.

It is probably a front propshaft problem. Check the CV joints for wear and get ready for that sucker to break.

all hell breaks loose.it will tear up your tranny,undercarage and who knows what else.

My ty vibrates like that too,only when Im in OD over 55 mph and kick it down though.Ive heard simillar problems from others.

If your Ty vibrates when downshifting from from OD, such as when you give it gas to pass on the highway, your torque converter is in less than perfect condition. A fluid change and some conditioner will sometimes help. Mine did the ol' TC Shudder for 30K miles before the TC finally went out for good. I wasn't racing it at all during that time, though, so your results may differ. The syty.org archives have a lot of posts about the shudder, just search on tranny shudder.
