differential/trans noise

when i put the truck in neutreal , when still moving someting in the rear end makes a clank noise, it sounds like the rear end, the trans is allready screwed, so i am just curious if it is the trans, or if i may have screwed something up, when putting the rear end back together. also, when i stop in traffic, if i put it in neutrel, & not touch the gas, it will idel foward.if i touch the gas, it jumps, then falls in to neutral, & agin makes a clank noise. Just wondered if any one else had this happen

A little off topic, but does any one else have a feul pump that can be heard over the engine at idel, cause mine is extremly loud.

Sounds like your forward clutch pack piston had a bad lip seal and is hitting something like it's bore when releasing. Can't tell for sure unless you open it up which sounds like you planning on doing anyway since it's screwed.

My pump is also loud.
