Any good Sy/Ty mechanics or shops in Phoenix?

I've only been down here a while and haven't had a need for major repairs on my Ty yet, but I did take my Ty to a local shop when I had a wiring harness problem. Everyone had a fit hearing that I took my Ty to a primarily Ford mechanic, but he was quick and honest. It was called Turbo RX and is in Chandler off Chandler Blvd. I picked that shop because when I drove up, he had classics and modern muscle cars in the bay, which is what he specializes in. Their number is 480-961-4878.

By the way, welcome to the boards!

Welcome...

We (Turbo 6 guys) usually work on our own cars/trucks to do simple stuff. I really depends on your problem/application.

Tranny - Talk to Bob at AAMCO (SW corner of Cave Creek and Cactus), he's a GN owner and specializes in beefing up 700R4s and 200R4s. He has done pretty much ever Turbo Regal and Syclone race tranny out here in AZ.

Engine Builder - Talk to Joe at TOTAL MARINE (Just south of Rio Salado on McClintock). He's built almost every fast turbo car in AZ as well. He also owns a low 9-second Malibu which he built...

General Turbo Advice (or brakes) - Email Rick Elam at Baer Brakes (ricke@baer.com), he seems to be one of the most knowledgable people as far as turbo vehicles go. He has answers to just about every technical question I ask him. And we get VERY technical... If you show up at the Pavillions car show on any Saturday, we'll both be there for sure...

Turbos - Call up John Craig at Limit Engineering. He's out in Lake Havasu, and he pretty much wrote the book on turbos.

Hope this helps give you a start,
Brandon

Bah, that Brandon doesn't know a damn thing. Just buy a motor from Checker and you'll be good. Dump the turbo and go with NNNNNAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWSSSSSSSSSSSS and a HUGE tailpipe. Then you'll be cool

Oh, and don't forget the running boards.
