AC/heater box clean up

I painted my firewall this past weekend and now the ac heater box stands out like a sore thumb. What have you guys done to clean this up? Will paint hold on to the plastic?

They make a spray paint called Fusion that is made for plastic. I think even Walmart sells it

I wouldn't paint it black if that's what you're thinking. I can't help but think that would look a bit hack. Just cleaning it makes a world of difference. If you have a spare you could try scuffing it with a 3M pad and then hitting it with some clear.
