2.5" vs 3" downpipe

Just purchased a Syclone and want to upgrade a few things. Looking at DPs. Not sure on which size would be better? 2.5" or the 3" ?

Is the truck stock otherwise? I've read here that boost can spike and damage things when exhaust restrictions are removed.

Yes pretty much. Has a chip and a 3 bar map. Just ordered a fuel pump, hot wire kit etc.
