anyone had their Sy/Ty wheels(rear) widened? Don't know what purpose it would serve other than looks;) Seems like a 10" wheel would be nice. Anyone done it?

I know Stockton Wheel widens steel wheels, not sure about cast aluminum. Seems like the stock syty wheels are prone to bending. I can't imagine widening them will help any. With a enough $$ anythings possible though!

Can't say I've heard they were prone to bending.. Maybe if you hit curbs all the time. Where'd you hear this from?

my friend had his M3 rims widened and has beat on them pretty hard, road coarse wide body LS2, he is not nice to it and has had no problems.

Brandon wins. So far I have only found 275/45's(and only in a racing tire) and 265/45's. I'm trying to convert it over to diameter to see if it matches the front(245/50). Thanks

ok, stock 245/50/16 is 25.6". The 275/45's are 25.7". I don't know how far the 10" rim would "spread" the 275 and possibly lose some height?

I have had stock rims on my Ty for a while Driving through bk and queens and have never bent one... Only when I have gotten into an accident and went up a steep curb they got bent.

Doesn't even sound worth the money IMO. May as well buy some ZR1 wheels if you want wide.

All four of mine were bent when I bought the truck. Replaced with ZR-1's. Problem solved.

you can have them widend but u can can get much bigger of tire in 16' wheels so its not really worth it. Ive looked into it and also looked into have one off Syty replica made in 17x11 and 17x9 jsut bc it would be so different and unique

Thanks for all the input. I just *like* the looks of the stock wheels, only want a little wider. We'll see what happens:D

Yep, the lack off tire selection in addition to trying to make a "silk purse out of a sows ear" makes it impractical. Good luck finding a supplier of wheel blanks who will sell you just ONE set. Everyone who has wheel blanks wants you to set up an account and buy MANY blanks. If you want to buy just one set you are wasting their time... You could hit up Boyd's, they have the profile of our rims on file and ready to cut. Last I heard, they were *only* charging $2500 per wheel.

Re: can stock wheels be widened?

I had my stock wheels widened by weldcraft wheels. They did an awesome job. I had both fronts and backs done, so I could fit MT ET Streets on the fronts and back of the truck. I wanted to keep the sleeper look as much as I could. I think I took the backs to 10 inch and the fronts to 9 inch, I had it done about 3 years ago.
