ok i just bought this truck like 2 or 3 weeks ago
when the truck runs cold it runs good and all but once it gets kinda hot it runs like shit it would back fire like crazy and the truck wouldnt go ne where. The temp gauge reads low all the time and wen it does that the boost gauge goes all the way up...the guy who i bought it from let it seatn for about 2 years..change the oil,new cap and rotor, plugs and wires and coil..

it has a 1-8 switch chip by todd austinson, kenne bell air to air intercooler, adjus fuel pressure reg,msd 8.5 mm wires,im not sure if its an upgrade turbo or not and it has a 3inch exhaust pipe and thats about it..i hope ne one knows wats goin on with this truck

one guy told me to check my map sensor but i wouldnt no if it was stock or not all i no that it has a lil switch piece lookn thingy on ther ...so hopfully sumone noes wats goin on

Re: Truck trouble

My buddies Mustang did something similar to this and it ended up being the relay for the fuel pump. I know fords are different but I just thought I would throw that out there. If I had to guess maybe that your charcol vapor canister is not relieving pressure. Just a random thought on a friday afternoon.

Re: Truck trouble

Hey,
got your pm...i'll just reply here.

Couple questions you'll have to answer:
What plugs did you put in the truck?
Whats your base fuel pressure?
What thermostat is in the truck?
Verify the wires are plugged fully and on the right pegs?

Agreed. It'll run even better with conventional plugs. That truck was not designed for iridium, platinum or anything other than conventional.
