Just a reminder...we're aiming for this to really be a family friendly event...so things like wet tshirt contests and jello wrestling are not going to happen. Even Hooters is questionable (plus their food is horrible) as to whether or not its appropriate.

Go-Karts Sounds like a great idea. Something kids and adults could do.
I also like the Hooters idea. Maybe not at Hooters but at the first few Nats thats something that we did. We all cruised together to a resturant (Hooters) that was already having a cruise-in/car show. They knew we were going to be there and they saved a section for us. Its was fun and made for some great photo ops.

Hooters was always fun. Plus, there was some decent racing on the road right there in front of us.
Not sure if anything is there now, but across the street in the vacant parking lot is where Sean Morris pulled off his Crazy 8s video. Good times....

I've never shown this to anyone since it was incomplete and i didn't get pics of all the attendees / trucks.
But i'll share it now for all to enjoy :lol: There are a few blanks of names/screennames i didn't know off the top of my head. Also i never bothered making all the pics the exact same size for uniformity since i scrapped the idea.
I tried to pull this off at NATS X unsuccessfully. It'll be enforced at NATS 2009 though. No one will escape the wrath of my camera.

I think the go karts would be fun - especially if people raced instead of using them as bumper cars.
Hooters cruise - we always end up there. Why not make it official?
Autocross has to happen. I think this was one of the things that made the GB Nats so good.

I agree go karts would :rock:, but only if we were able to rent the whole place out, at least for a couple of hours or something

Is there a date...a ballpark at the very least? June? I'm seriously booking appointments into next summer right now and want to block the weekend.

We can't pinpoint a date until the track can confirm.
The track won't allow rentals until they book their 'real' events.
So we can't do much besides plan out what all we want to do at this point unfortunately. Believe me...i would absolutely love to release all the information we have right now to everyone, but there is nothing set in stone yet since we can't reserve a particular weekend.
I can tell you this....it'll be sometime between the beginning of January and then end of December of 2009. :rotf: Thats unfortunately as exact as i can tell anyone at this point.

Have fun planning with the track. Homecoming last year was a big problem because of the track. They are a pain to deal with! Hopefully you will have better luck!

today was the first time i did anything with the pictures. When i got home from NATS i realized i didn't have pictures of everyone since some people showed up after we'd taken the official pics. So i just kept the pics to myself. :lol:

the only way we will do any shooting is if we were to go to a range.

i wouldnt be agianst not even renting the track, and maybe just going to one of the test n tune sessions. i know the track rental eats up alot of the money and usually its not a real busy day of racing anyway. if we could use part of that day for a more worthwhile fun event that would be cool.
