Those of you who have done this did you have to shorten the rod when using a astro van booster? I think its 1/2 inch that needs to be removed

here is how i did mine,i cut the astro rod,and cut the stock sy rod,went to lowes and bought a piece of pipe that just fit over the two,slid the pipe on ,then welded the two rods together then slid the pipe over the welded two rods and then welded that on both ends.

then when you got out and try it be carefull you dont eat the dash when you hit them.

Thats what i was thinking but how do you know the right length? Just pull the pedal all the way up and adjust to fit that?

I just measured the length of the stock rod off the vacuum booster when I got it out and figured thats how long my hydroboost rod needed to be, I cut the two and welded the stock rod end to the hydroboost one per my measured length. I then took steel rod roughly the same size as the stock and hydroboost rod and welded it along the entire length for added strength.
