Got the battery hooked up but the ECM is out of the truck, should the fuel pump kick on when the key is turned on without the Ecm?

Thanks..

I don't think it will kick on. I know if the ECM-B fuse is pulled it will not turn on so with no ECM, you will have same results.

Not unless you get oil pressure.

Speaking of the fuel pump, aren't there a pair of ALDL contacts that you can jumper to turn it on?

There is a gray test lead under the hood near the AFPR that if you put +12 V on it will run the pump.

I think this bypasses all other fuel pump controls and should get you FP without an ECM.

I thought you could jumper some aldl pins to make it run too.

You can jump the fuel pump relay and make it run, its one of the two behind the brake booster, furthest to the drivers side of the truck.

There is a green wire with white tracer (465) originating from the ECM to the fuel pump relay (not sure if it is 12V or 5V ?) -so you need the ECM.

OR

The gray wire can be jumped with a 12V source and this should turn on the pump.

It isn't really either voltage. The ECM grounds this wire to turn on the FP relay. The 'other side' of the relay coil is 12V w/ key on. Cir 439. pnk/blk.

My schematic does not have a 439 nor a pink/black? It does have a 450 black/white which goes to the ECM (Taken from 1991 factory manual)
