i'd be willing to make these as cheap as possible for everyone....i have one of these tensioners and was going to do something similarish.

Just wondering were you going to be making these kits to sell any time soon?

good news guys, i put this to the test finally friday night

the tensioner pictured is off of my trans am and has a high lip pulley. i was borrowing it.

i put on another stock tensioner with the stock 'no lip' plastic pulley

i ran my best pass in the truck THIS TENSIONER IS FAST!!

here is the vid, and the result is that the belt stayed put.

just take your time with the kits from RENZ and make sure that your bracket is square with the engine and other accessories. there normally is always something a little here or there from one car to the next.

I'm in the process of making 10 mild, 5 stainless, and 8 aluminum kits. I'll let everyone know when they're ready. Plus i'm still trying to locate the cheapest possible tensioners

I had drawn up a design previously, and used David's hole spacing. It works beautifully!

Here are my pics, installed:

Also, here is my drawing. My measured hole spacing was different, so that's what I took from your flat pattern... that, and the main idea...

Now I'm in the process of trying to get a belt that fits. 57.3" won't work, and I bought a 58.8" belt to try, but I think it'll be too long. I'll post back when I find a good belt size, with part number.

The 58.8" belt ended up working for me, although the tensioner is close to fully extended. The belt could handle being about .400 shorter, I think. I am going to stick with this belt until it proves wrong when (if) I get it running.

If you don't mind buying used, you can score one on ebay. It is the same one that we use on our trucks, part number 10118701.

Wow good find, I tried searching but I couldn't think of the right wording to use. Thank You!
I don't mind used.
I might see if it can be welded first but the metal looks very pouris and I tend to doubt it will work.
