Found this a couple years ago and wanted to bring it to your guys attention. Holley sells a standalone fuel injection system "Commander 950 Pro" that seems targeted at small block chevy guys looking to get rid of their carburetors.
The thing is, the manual for this system is the best free guide I have ever seen on how to tune a fuel injection system. It's a real gold-mine! Here's the download link:
http://www.holley.com/data/Products/Technical/199R10149-7.pdf 114 pages, 5.9MB
The Holley system is very similar to a GM ECM so a LOT of the concepts translate right over to SyTys.
This is a REAL tuning guide, they explain exactly how to calibrate the fuel and timing, how to compensate for adjustments in temperature, what situations you'd want to add extra acceleration enrichment (pump shot) fueling, etc. I have never found another free guide with as much REAL-WORLD information as this.
Their charts and diagrams are an inspiration for my work-in-progress PowerTunePlus "Beginner's Guide to Chip Tuning". I can only hope my guide turns out nearly as good as this one.
For example, are you confused by "VE Tables" and where to start? Check out the chart at the bottom of page 31, that's one of the most useful images I have seen in tuning. Really helps to crack the surface and de-mystify the "black art" of chip tuning. You might notice it's almost identical to the Fuel (VE) tables in TunerPro.
If you are serious about learning to tune your SyTy (or any EFI car), I recommend reading or at least browsing through this guide and seeing if you can pick up a few concepts. Every time I look at the guide, I get new ideas about how to improve my own tunes.
