Whats wrong with my setup?

That cam is lucky to if you get 4800-5000 out of it. What size rockers do you have 1.5 or 1.6?
The stall is way too much! 4800 - 5000 is your RPM tops and your stallling to 3800 only leaving 1,000 rpm not good.

My truck stalls @ 2800 and we run too 6300.

If your on pump gas the intake air temps are high, so its pulling timing and the l35 heads are good bu a fraction over stock as for flow.

I ran 12.0's all day with PTE52, vortecs, 3000 stall,, ultimate chip.

it was 8 gallons of 91 octane and 3.5 gallons 110 mix

That like 92 octane. If you wanna run a better fuel you need to buy some TORCO and just add to the tank of gas.

This is cheaper than buying race gas, or mixing. You are better off dumping a gallon of Xylene in the tank then to mix 110 with 91. This give you nothing in return by mixing.

Re: Whats wrong with my setup?

Here's a good question - when your truck shifts at WOT and full boost, what is the LOWEST RPM you see after a shift? And what are your shift points?

For instance, in this video of my tach, you can see it drops to about 4200-4300 after a shift.

Doing out the math, its actually about 96-97 Octane.

Re: Whats wrong with my setup?

Im betting the problem is all in the converter. Get rid of that Art carr and get something good thats custom built to your combo, like a Coan or Yank.

Re: Whats wrong with my setup?

A drop of 900 RPM sounds like your converter is actually performing decent and perhaps not as loose as what it sounded like when you mentioned that "3800 RPM" figure.

Sorry to hear that things are so frustrating. I still think if you ran DataMaster on it, it would provide more insight into your problem. You could post your DM file and let others try to find what's wrong. It's up to you.
