Stock Short Block

Just curious but what are the limitations of the stock SYTY short blocks? Let me rephrase that what is the REASONABLE limit to the stock Rotating assembly... I know LS1 guys achive 600rwph on there LS1s but its a time bomb of an engine. And are newer junk yard found 4.3s much better?

Look at ViciousV6, and Hackings truck for limits. I tihnk both are over the 600hp mark. But how much more can they take.. :dunno:

I think he is asking about stock rods/pistons, etc.

I would say 400hp on a GOOD tune. 200 on a bad tune.

Yes that is what i was asking... Short block... block, crank, pistons, and rods. and you're right a good tune is the key. So with a good tune and meth I should push it past 400hp. And about what times could I expect at 400hp?
