I thought I'd post this kill story since they are so few since it being winter and mostly everyones truck is in storage.
So far this is the only race from a dead stop since I've owned my truck. Truck has the 12 sec recipe with the Ultimate chip, so here is how it happened. I was at a car show back in september and was on my way home. I was cruising about 50 mph down the expressway when all of a sudden this Nissan 350Z passes me by. He had to be doing over a 100 mph and right behind him was a white Honda trying to catch him.
I could see them get off the expressway about 3/4 a mile ahead on the right. Thats the same exit I would be taking to go home. I remember the Nissan from the car show. As matter of fact, he took first place in his class. It was so sharp that I even walked over and checked it out. I was dark blue and had lots of mods under the hood. It really looked fast, even sitting still.
So I got off the same exit and low and behold, must have caught a couple of light because I ended up next to him at the stop light on the main drag going thru town and no one was in front of us. The white Honda was also still behind him. I look over and I could not see him because his windows were mirrored and he wasn't reving so I didn't really know if he was going to jump on me.
The light changed and we both started off normal and we both sorta jumped on it a little and we caught the next light. I rolled my window down and motioned for him to lower his . Before I could say anything, he yelled over, "you wanna go for it?" I said why not and proceeded to roll my window up, my heartbeat immediately increased to 100+ beats per miniute. It felt like it was pounding. I wasn't nervous, I was excited. I have had my Syclone over three years and this was my first stop light encounter. I cut off the a/c and turned up the boost to T1-18. I started building boost and he was really reving his engine. It was so loud that I could not hear my truck runing.
I have no idea how much boost I had built. I was afraid to take my eyes off the traffic light for even a second but I could feel my whole truck trembling,. I don't know what was shaking the most. My leg or the truck.my My torque converter sounded like it was shuddering. When the light changed, I floored it and I broke all four tires loose for a couple of feet and I could hear them all squeal.
I jumped him off the line and after I shifted into second, I was finally able to look in my side mirror after the initial launch setteled down and he was about 4 cars behind me and I was still pulling on him. The next light ahead turned red and we both had to heat the brakes to stop.
I rolled my window down and he yelled, "that thing is all wheel drive, isn't it?.I said yes and he said that his car is really a top end car and he turned left and that was the end. I went home and looked up his car and from what I could tell, It was about 305 hp stock.
I was happy that I had won my first race and was on a high for a couple of days.
