I just put in an ultimate chip for stock injectors and i made a couple datamaster runs tonight. Will someone take a look at them for me?

Holy Knock retard Batman....

You generally shouldn't run T2 on cheap pump gas (< 94)... does it knock like that on the lower settings?

Could possibly be slightly lean. Fuel pressure base at 50 psi?

May well just be that your turbo is moving too much air for the stock ultimate cal.

IAT is awful high as well... make sure your IC pump is working properly.

Have you done ignition (Plugs/wires/cap+rotor) lately?

I thought you could run on the T216 setting on 93 pump gas. The IC pump is working so im going to look into getting something to lower the IAT once i get the money. I guess im due for an ignition tune too, Its been about 6 months since my last one. I'll take a datamaster run on the T116 setting tomorrow and post it up also.

You're still getting a constant 2-7* knock. That's killing performance (Datamaster says you're running 14.5 @ 93 MPH). Do you have 93 octane fuel? Have you verified your distributor timing is 0* with the tan wire under the passenger foot area disconnected?

Don't forget the Ultimate chip (and stock chips) will *reduce* the boost when it starts knocking this much. That probably explains the drop to 10 PSI. It's trying to save your motor so I wouldn't go adjusting the wastegate just yet.

BTW, these are *great* DataMaster files you're sending. Solid 1/4 MI runs make for the best diagnosis. Although you might want to check if your floor mat is jamming under the gas pedal, it looks like you're only giving it a maximum of 89% throttle.

Im running 93 octane gas, should i try to run a higher octane to see if that helps? I havent checked the timing on it yet, i'll have to bring the truck up to the shop to check it because i dont have a light at home. The floor mat was out of the truck when i did this run and my foot was to the floor. Is there any way to adjust the cable?

Yes - absolutely try a higher octane fuel to see what happens! That helps to tell if your problem is too much timing/boost, or if it's false knock or something else. (Depending on whether or not the knock disappears with the higher octane fuel).

I dont know a way to adjust the throttle cable, if anyone else knows one, I could use it too! I have to jam my foot so far down to get 100% that my carpet is all worn bare in the area under the gas pedal. :roll:

Your transmission's TV cable could be adjusted wrong causing the entire throttle linkage to bind.. it's not likely but possible. There is a very specific procedure to adjust that so I would search and double check it (just be sure you do it right or you can burn up your trans).

Thanks guys. My TV cable is adjusted fine, i checked that today. Im about to just cut the rug around the gas pedal to make sure im hitting full throtle. What octane would you suggest running? or is anything over 93 pump gas good?

Take the bolts off that hold the pedal on. Bend the leg of the pedal in a vise.

I've had zero knock with 93 lately with a chip that's pretty much the same as a t1-18 setting on an ultimate if that helps any.. I would think 93 should be good enough unless your running some big boost just my :2cents: but im sure it depends on your over all tune ie plugs/cap/rotor etc

Im running the RPM stage 1 with the ultimate chip for stock injectors on setting T1-15 and still getting between 2-7* knock. My last ignition tune was done about 6 months ago. Im going to do another one soon. So you think its more of a timing problem than a false knock?

Keith helped me fix my slacked throttle cable at Homecoming at the track, i just put a flanged bolt with a flanged nut, and sandwiched the cable (pedal-side). that put tension on it.

once i got home, i made a space similar to Don's.

dude, get a under the bumper air scoop if you're using the stock IC system. I put one on my truck last week and my old temps were 185 peaked but after the scoop I haven't seen anything over 148 but am averaging 112 or below just cruising. Oh yeah, I also junked those metal tubes for heater hoses.

In my case I also have the rpm stage 1 turbo with stock injectors.. don't have an ultimate but am using a bin that was orignally a t1-18 but now slightly changed without any knock.

I did however have 2-6 kr but it turned out to be a rattling dp heat shield. With that fixed i only see knock during upshifts once in a while.

So I'd verify timing is zero with the tan wire disconnected, rev the truck up in neutral to see if knock occurs and maybe do some tune up stuff.. also some of that knock could be due to high intake temps which your having.. make sure your ic pump is working like others suggested.

Also.. have you upgraded our fuel pump or check base fuel pressure? the ultimate requires a walbro pump and base 50 psi pressure if I remember right?

I did put a walbro pump in before i put the chip in. And does anyone know what two ports i have to connect with the paper clip to make sure my ic pump is working?

Thats another thing on my to do list. I have to fab something up for my scoop because the metal pieces that your supposed to bolt it onto are rusted off. I just bought some heater hose to replace the metal lines also.
